KSVR-FM was recently recognized by the National Center for Media Engagement for its work promoting the welfare and dignity of the Hispanic community. On the NCME Web site, KSVR was applauded for helping to organize and promote Citizenship Day, an annual event assisting immigrants aspiring to gain American citizenship. KSVR and KSVU receive Rick Epting Foundation award
KSVR and KSVU were pleased to accept a grant award for $300 from the Rick Epting Foundation on Saturday night at the Lincoln Theatre.
KSVU, which begain broadcasting in 2011, was one of five grant recipients.
KSVR-FM receives support and funding from many areas
KSVR-FM is a non-commercial radio station licensed to the Board of Trustees of Skagit Valley College, funded with a combination of support from various sources: local business underwriters, revenue from several dances each year, an annual allocation from the Associated Students of S.V.C. and support from the Student Services of S.V.C., with staffing support from Day-Academic Department and Student Life Office.
